Happy Trails Robert Marve

He was compared to Tim Tebow. In fact he had broken many of Tebow's state passing records and had won the Mr. Football award in the state of Florida. But Robert Marve's two years at Miami were ill fated. Starting with a car accident in August 2007 which forced him to redshirt for 2007, then showing the bird to FSU fans leaving Doak Campbell Stadium, an arrest (the only one for an active UM player under Randy Shannon) and then a suspension for missing class, Marve showed a lack of maturity or willingness to be held accountable.

Marve is a remarkable athlete who may have done well at Miami in another day or age. but today's Miami is a more disciplined outfit which takes the academic progress of football players very seriously. This is a very good thing for Miami as it eliminates a major distraction entering next season. Best of luck to him wherever he ends up.
