I was somewhat concerned the Hurricanes would have a bit of a hangover from being ranked for the first time since 2002 this evening at the Bank United Center against Stetson. Well the Canes 23-6 run to begin the game resulted in a decisive victory. Tonight was a real bounce back night offensively for Brian Asbury who has been missing in action on the offensive end of floor (but outstanding defensively) the last few weeks. In addition, Ray Hicks starting for the injured Jimmy Graham showed some real strength inside scoring 15 points and helping to set the tone for the offense inside.
Next up for the Canes, North Florida coached by former Jacksonville and Western Kentucky Head Coach Matt Kilcullen on Thursday.

The BB team is for Real
Anyone think Nass could get some minutes in ACC games (assuming we stay relatively healthy)? I realize it was against a weak opponent, but he looked serviceable out there tonight. His height seemed to create problems inside and he usually was in the right place at the right time. He had a nice post move and a tip in off the offensive glass, plus 5 rebounds (2 offensive). And he almost hit a 3.
I'm looking forward to see if he can contribute more in the next couple of games. Wouldn't be bad to have him as the 10th man in a 10 man rotation playing 4-6 minutes a game.
Just noticed he had 3 blocks tonight. Were any of them impressive?
I am a fan of Fabio myself but don't think we can count on him for more than a few minutes in isolated spurts against the ACC. He'd probably be a decent player at the mid major level since he'd have more time on the floor. He looked good against FIU also, but he has no post moves and is a liability in the low post on D. He does a good job passing and setting picks though. Again I agree he is serviceable on an ACC level, but nothing more than that. However, Haith does like his work ethic which is why he is on scholarship while others like Lawrence Gilbert were run off.
I understand Julian Gamble is being redshirted. True or untrue? If so, why sit a talented kid for the year when we are chasing glory this year?
