For the second straight week Miami is on the outside looking in to both major Basketball polls. The Canes are first in others receiving votes (meaning they received the 26th most votes) in both the AP and ESPN/USA Today coaches poll. However, unlike football where teams live and die with the rankings this means nothing except for giving ESPN and other media entities a way to hype certain teams, matchups and coaches. These rankings are nothing more than a distraction from the Basketball being played at gyms and arenas across the nation during this wonderful time of year.
