All of the hyperbole and anger among Miami fans has me thinking, do people really understand how far the talent level has dropped at Miami . Before the season as many of you know I said I'd take in a Chicago minute, 6-6 and a bowl game. That was easier said than done because at 5-6, I like almost everyone else in south Florida is pushing the panic button. What I realized is that our season could be divided in thirds, not chronologically but based on our talent level versus our opponent. I've done the best I can to compare our talent level to our opponents. I really believe despite all the talk of a talent deficit that we have as much talent as BC. So basically in a 12 game season we've played 4 teams with less talent, 4 teams with more or less similar talent and 4 teams with more talent than we have. Here is my breakdown:

Obviously Randy Shannon's failure to motivate his players and his coaches failure to put them in situations to succeed is more obvious against superior teams like Virginia and Oklahoma. But if we somehow get a win @ BC Saturday, you can look back on the season and say that only one loss, the game in Chapel Hill was really totally uncalled for. Sure the home losses to NC State and GT hurt, especially since we blew the games very late or in OT, but again those teams are very similar in talent level to us. Shannon was outcoached for sure versus Chan Gailey and in the case of NC State, I really think Tom O'Brien had a hard time relating to the players until midseason so their losing record is a bit deceiving. They began 1-5 and are now 5-6 so obviously once he got a handle on the team, they improved. NC State should be a contender for the ACC Title next year in my humble opinion.

NC State and GA Tech do not as much talent than we do. UVA and OU have more, VT about the same. FSU has less. Stop making excuses for this sorry staff and this even sorrier group of players. OU and VA were the only justified losses but playing VA in the final OB game means we should win under that circumstance. So 10-1 or 9-2 is what our record should be.
Shannon claimed this team could play for an ACC Title. So now we are giving him a pass for back to back 30 plus point losses to teams in our own division?
I've noticed as I read through the comments there's a common divide. There's these so-called supporters who say they are such fans & only want to see what's best for the team by ripping the coaches. Then you have the fans who support what's going & ask these negative posters to answer questions but they won't.
So I question these negative f%$ks. You all say it's coaching but don't talk about the QB void. You won't talk about having to coach with no depth. Will any of you losers come with something other than you want another change because I think most on here are a bunch of moles. We're about to clean up on the recruiting trail but no mention of that.
Rich Olson was here last year & his offense looked like shyte! Our offense is finally picking up blitzes & showing some signs but the QB position is the worst I've ever witnessed as a Cane fan. Tell me how these coaches aren't any good & aren't moving my program in the right direction. You all wanted Coker gone & flew banners over the OB to have his a$$ fired & wonder why no top notch OC with a proven track record could come here? RS has taken over the reigns under some pretty shitty circumstances & all he gets is grief for it. Some of you fools don't deserve RS! The man has done nothing but bleed Orange & Green & comes from Jimmy Johnson lineage & you question him? Fools! Every last hater on here! Go support some other shlub program! You all are retards!

QB Void -
The only way you don't think this gets responded to is because you don't read. Our two Elite 11, All American QB's should be better this year than last year for the following obvious reasons
1. One more year of experience.
2. Way better OL
3. Better running game
4. No distractions, Coker, Pata, Brawl media aftermath, internal schisms.
5. Same WR's with one more year experience
But our QB's are not better than last year..... if anything they are worse despite the vastly better environment and support they have around them this year. Why?
Lack of depth
You asked on another thread who was backing Kenny and Calais. I didn't respond because its such a stupid question. Who was responsible for recruiting and developing their backups? Could it be......... Randy? Blaming Coker forever isn't worth it.
Even when Kenny Philips and Calais Campbell were on the field..... they played way worse than last year too. See a trend here?
I could go on and on.... but you won't get it because you are so caught up in believing in Randy. You aren't a Canes fan. You're a Randy fan. In case you hadn't noticed...... our players ARE the Canes.... Randy is just here to help them. Again as bad as Coker was as recruiter and as an evaluator of talent until all the s#$% last season his one good asset was game day prep.

And as to Olson.... he coached here during the Coker demise, the Pata murder, a sick OL, and the onfield brawl..... try kickstarting an offense in the midst of all that. And you have the nerve to compare his environment with a brand new coach with all the optimism that entails versus coaching under a lame duck sure to be fired coach like Coker? Look at what he's done at ASU this year and tell me the guy can't coach! Compare his track record overall to Pat Nix and its like comparing a BMW to a Chevy .
