Video: Darius Rice vs U Conn

Today marks the resumption of Miami's rivalry with UConn. As with so many times in the past both teams are ranked and are hunting the NCAAs. One time that Miami was not ranked and stole a win was versus U Conn in 2003. This is an unforgettable moment in UM history. Enjoy!

Why is Collins the only guy going inside? Where are the other forwards?

Yep, Rios sucks after one damn game..I sometimes wonder can people be any more ignorant, and every single time, someone manages to prove me wrong. Rios had a bad game, they happen. We lost to the 2nd ranked team in the country early in the season, but hung in there for a lot of the game, it's a learning experience.

I did not know our Basketball fans are now like our football fans. Instead of appreciating the moment and the progression of this team we want instant gratification.

UConn is arguably the best team in the country. The Big East is without a doubt the best league and they are the best team in that league. While we have talent and are picked high in the polls partly due to a media bias towards the ACC we don't have the team yet that we had in the late 1990s when we routinely beat UConn. Please be patient Basketball fans. The last thing we need is for the BUC to be full of negativity like the football games.

Some honest assessments from last night:

- Jack McClinton wore down. We had the opportunity to cut the lead to five inside of two minutes but Jack missed the front end of a one and one for possibly the first time in his career. The team then seemed to quit after that.

- James Dews has to make open shots to relieve Jack. By digging an early hole, Jack was forced to carry the scoring load earlier and did not get any help from the rest of the backcourt.

- The new Dwayne Collins will dominate the ACC. Collins footwork has improved, and now he seems fearless underneath. If he keeps this up he'll dominate the ACC which I feel is a "soft" league inside. That's why Hansbrough dominates: nobody can match up with him. DC will create the same matchup problems.

- Lance Hurdle is still gimpy. He didn't look right yesterday. He'll want to play tonight against his hometown team San Diego, but perhaps he needs an extended rest after that.

Kartik you are such a hypocrite. You spend years forcing basketball down our throats and when some of us finally get excited the team lets us down. Then you say "be patient." Screw it: Football is our sport and we should simply not waste times on other things.
