Restoration Saturday

I have been busy with campaign work much of the last two days and only caught passing moments of both the Gator and Seminole games, but both teams had big, character showing victories today. Florida for the first time since 2000 will win the SEC East and you have to be impressed by the gutsy nature of the Gator team after the dismissal of Marcus Thomas from the Football program. (too bad he is out of eligibility because Florida's SEC East rival Tennessee specializes in admitting thugs like Thomas into their program). Tim Tebow continues to be one of the biggest impact freshman around. Michigan's struggle against Ball State at home today should give Gator fans hope of playing for the national title, especially if Rutgers defeats Louisville on Thursday night.

Florida State too was impressive. Buster Davis and the FSU defense shut down what has been for the previous few weeks a very impressive Virginia offense. Xavier Lee didn't look comfortable in the offense, but he has a few weeks to adjust before the Gators come to town.

Good news maybe apparent in the northern part of the state but in south Florida, expect Larry Coker to complain about the wind and possible rain when Miami gets dominated in OB tonight by Virginia Tech. Miami cannot run the football nor stop the run and Va Tech is a great running team that stuffs the run on D . Can anyone say mismatch? Besides, Sean Glennon unlike Kyle Wright is beginning to look like a real college QB. Besides, the Canes have quit on the season and the players are openly fueding with one another. Not only does Miami lose today, but I would bet my life they won't win again this season.

My pick: Va Tech 41 Miami 6.

Kartik,
perhaps there are a number of morons on here that dont watch college football but insist on opening their mouth and typing BS like the post above.

UF scored in the second half and defensively dominated Vanerbilt. Vanderbilt aka Vander-doodie is not the door mat we all wish they had continued to be.

Vanderbilt can hang with most programs in the SEC East, as evident by the number of games they have COMPETED in this season. At the end of the day, they are still Vanderbilt. Lets not confuse them with Duke, UNC, Vagina (which I disagree, sucks, and was lucky to have even arrived in FSU today).

Illinois hung with OSU today, lets put that in perspective with Vanderbilt. Miami fans have forgotten that the BCS does not reward running up the score and a win is a win.

Miami might stop the run, but only if the team isnt a running team to begin with. Like LSU for example...

Should UF beat USC next week, and barring any defensive injuries, FSU should shit a brick and hide. Not that UF will blow them out like last year (although I am hopeful) but shut them down, pick them off, and chase Buddy Lee like John Randle chasing the Bret Farve chicken like in the movie Rocky.

Run Buddy Lee, Run!

I welcome any UF fans on this blog to contact me and visit my Pregame party for the UF v. FSU game.

I'll be in the T as in Tebow parking lot, under the Tebow Tent, drinking Tebow Beer, and cooking Tebow steaks. Not really, but probably eating Firehouse subs and chips.

How bout them CANES.

I am so glad tha the TV broadcast showed all those Miami Cheerleaders and Dancers occupying the stands cause it sure didnt look like there were any fans left after the 1st half.

The best thing about the broadcast, aside from the outcome were all those shots of the street vendors and those sausages, brats, and other Cuban delights.

Kyle Wright and Freeman are horrid. Not to mention the defense, that according to ABC broadcasters was really fired up! HA HA HA! Make a tackle and celebrate like its the biggest tackle you have ever made in your life, your mom got out of rehab, and your dad is up for early parole! WOOOHOO, I am Baraka Atkins and I made a tackle! Oh Baby I am fired up for simply executing what I have been taught to do for the past 9 years of playing football.

No Roger, No Rerun, No Rent!

Listen to Canes Rising Radio!
