Spurrier: "No Interest in Miami"

Steve Spurrier finally addressed the media speculation that he has been working back channels to get himself into position for the Miami job if and when Larry Coker is fired. "Miami's a top program, but I have no interest in leaving South Carolina," Spurrier stated on his weekly call in show.

Great read from today's PB Post:

ESPN analyst Rod Gilmore wrote this week that Miami was the nation's most disappointing team and singled out Wright's lack of development as one of the primary reasons.

Gilmore, who lives in California, said Wednesday that he has followed Wright since the quarterback's high school days in Danville, Calif., and thought Wright "was going to have as good a career at Miami as any (quarterback) who has gone through there."

"But when I watch him play, I don't see the leaps and bounds that one would expect in development from his freshman and sophomore years," Gilmore said.

"He locks in on one (receiver) and doesn't come off very quickly, and he looks to me like a guy that's not any more comfortable in the pocket than he was a couple of years ago."

While Spurrier is a great coach he's a terrible recruiter and we need someone hungry to go up against Schiano, Meyer, Bowden and Petrino.

Schiano from last night:

"South Florida is our little secret"

Someone should let Coker in on Schiano's secret. Rather than continuing to waste his time with 4-5 star out of state recruits all of whom seem to flop in royal fashion. (see Kyle Wright, Kirby FReeman, Andrew Johnson, Calais Campbell, etc, etc, etc)

South Carolina is such a powerhouse. Of course I wouldn't leave there!

Let me apologize in advance.....last second election stuff is killing my time so we may have infrequent posts thru Tuesday but beginning Wednesday we should have regular frequent posts much like the 2005 football and 2006 basketball seasons.
