Saturday Thoughts
- I guess the Gator Fans will be louder than ever in calling for Tim Tebow.
- Percy Harvin could be the best player in the nation next year.
- What a tragedy Adrian Peterson's career has become. For my money he is still the best player in America, but he can't stay healthy.
- Xavier Lee isn't the answer Nole fans.
- Jim Grobe has gotten so much out of this year's Wake Forest team. Not only is Wake winning with less talent than anyone else in the ACC save Duke, but they have more injuries than anyone else also.
- Our favorite QB, Matt Grothe lit up UNC today but also got hurt on a designed QB sweep. Jim Leavitt has to stop calling these plays with Grothe as they are clearly designed for Pat Julmiste. The Bulls continue to roll and could be a major spoiler in the Big East race.
- Speaking of the Big East, don't look now, but the ugly stepchild of BCS leagues maybe the best conference in the country!
- Coach Fran saves his job again and A&M shows they have a good shot to get over the hump this year in knocking off previously undefeated Mizzou.
- Nebraska is flying under the national radar, but they seem to be really kicking their west coast offense led by Zac Taylor into high gear.
- Matthew Stafford isn't the answer, Dawg fans.
- Southern Cal is still unbeaten. The critics can call them soft, but they are still 40-1 over their last 41 games.
- Perry Patterson gave the West Virginia fans the middle finger today after scoring a TD. Has it ever occured to the media that the fans in Morgantown are out of control and that is why so many opposing players have run ins with the fans there?
- The fight between UM and FIU was very reminiscent of the basketball brawl between Florida A&M and Florida State a few years ago. That game actually had to be called with FSU leading 38-35 late in the 1st half. Crosstown rivalries bring out the worst in the players and fans.

It is amazing that FIU starts the fight and even you admit that their fans behaved like low class punks, yet you say Miami should forfeit the remainder of its games. What a reckless, irresponsible piece of writing on your part.
Kartik, should Miami drop football as well? This is a totally absurd suggestion especially from someone who loves the history of the Miami program and glorifies the 1980s when Miami was Thug U.
I just got done watching the Gator game and I have some additional thoughts:
The Gators have been living dangerously all year off of mistakes by the opposition and a fierce gamebreaking defense. When opponents stop turning the ball over, the Gators lack of ability to drive the length of the football field becomes apparent.
In addition, you can manufacture a running game with trick plays early in the game as UF did last night, but on the road you need a power running game to control the second half and Florida totally lacks the type of drive blocking neccesary to close a game out with that sort of power game.
The good news for the Gators is that they don't have another tough game until going to FSU in over a month and should win the SEC East with Georgia's collapse. They have time to get rolling again and may get another shot at Auburn if Arkansas losses to both Tennessee and LSU.
Your commentary about Miami becomes less and less credible as you make crazy statements like FIU will beat them and Duke will beat them and they should cancel the season. If you cannot cover Miami objectively, bring in another writer who will, and you can continue to blow smoke up Jeff Bowden's ass since you love the SeminHOLES so much.
What we learned last night was not anything about Miami.....it is that the latin flavor of the FIU campus has given the FIU supporters the feeling that they can riot and behave like they are in Columbia or Guatemala.
This is AMERICA!!!!!!
This is an american game! If you are not american don't play it and don't act like classless s#$2s when things don't go your way.
The NCAA should shut down the FIU program.
I'm not sure that either UM or FIU can unilaterally cancal the rest of their seasons (or forfeit the remaining games). They have contractural obligations to the teams that they are scheduled to play that have monetary implications.
As to gregg's comments about Leak; sure he had a bad game last night, but so did any number of Gators. The day Urban Meyers says that Leak is not his number one QB, I'll take such myopic complaints semi-seriously.
FSU and FAMU made peace with the Governor intervening a few months later. Let us hope Miami's civil war doesn't come to big time government intervention.
Jeff,
please post for me your tailgate location for the FSU v. UF game... I have a fork and a roll of toilet paper for you... so you can eat your worrds and wipe your mouth from all that shit you are talking!
Sincerely,
THE JIM ROME
