College Football Saturday Alternatives to ESPN

This week ESPN demonstrated beyond a reasonable doubt that they can not be objkective when it comes to coverage of College Football. At the same time as top NCAA writers for Yahoo! Sports, Sports Illustrated and the Sporting News were writing more reasoned stories about the ugly brawl in Miami last Saturday, ESPN's shout shows and paid hacks continued to call for the termination of the Miami program without any balance or look at the College Football world and its problems in general.

For College Football viewers tired of ESPN's seeming domination of the sport and still suffering as I am from the withdrawal associated with the destruction of College Football's flagship network, ABC Sports, here are some alternative options.


Saturday Morning:

While I am watching Soccer on FSC, check out Sun Sports florida oriented pregame show. This provides the best possible alternative to the hype fest that is ESPN gameday.

Noon on Saturday.

Who wants to watch the Big Ten anyhow? Check out the SEC or ACC games on Lincoln Financial Sports. Want to watch the Big 12? Click over to Fox Sports Florida to see a good Big 12 game.

3:30 Saturday:

The biggest games and biggest names are typically on ABC at this time. However, ABC Sports no longer exists and even though watching the SEC may not be everyone's cup of tea, you can watch the SEC on CBS and rely on Tim Brando who didn't have enough attitude to stay at ESPN for scores and updates on other games.

Saturday Afternoon

Tempted to get quick scores and anaylsis from games across the nation outside the SEC? Turn on the NFL Network, where Mike Mayock, Butch Davis and Charles Davis break down the nuts and bolts of all the action from across the nation on the College Scoreboard show.

Saturday Primetime

The Big 12 is a good league and the PAC Ten is entertaining. Follow Charles Davis, who also works for the Sun Sports and the Golf Channel and lives in Orlando over to TBS where you'll see some good football without the "ESPN attitude."

Saturday Late Night

Fox Sports Florida features a PAC 10 matchup and good studio show. Get caught up on the games you missed by avoiding ESPN and all its sister networks during the day.
