- Chris Leak could be the most impressive player in the nation. Florida's offense has become so efficient, perhaps the best in the nation. Gone are the bad decisions and hurried throws Leak used to make, and now we see a Senior who can pinpoint all his weapons and run a fast paced offense without breaking a sweat. He deserves the Heisman, if he keeps this up. (Especially with Heisman front runners like Troy Smith and Drew Stanton looking so pedestrian of late.)
- Tim Tebow could be a future Heisman winner himself. Wow, what a star he is going to be!
- Florida State's offense looked poor against ACC dormat Miami, and Sun Belt also ran Troy. Then came a 4th quarter breakout in the loss to Clemson and now the Noles are hitting on all cylinders. With a weak schedule and an offense coming together, the Noles will win the ACC and are still in the national championship chase.
- F.I.U. is now 0-4 but scared Maryland tonight. I believe F.I.U has a very good shot to beat Miami, especially considering they will be motivated for that game. Keep in mind that many fans and players associated with the Miami program have already mailed in the season.
- South Florida's loss to Kansas tonight was very disappointing. Beating a Big 12 team on the road could have been a major statement game for the Bulls. Now the Bulls enter a daunting Big East slate. Remember all the talk last year that USF could win the Big East? Considering the Bulls struggled to beat UCF and FIU, chances are they will be a bottom feeder in the improved Big East this season.
- Do Georgia fans really still believe Matthew Stafford is the real deal?
- Think Miami is going to get on track next week against Houston? Think again! The Cougars had 350 yards on offense against Ok State in the first half. Ok State is much better team than Miami right now, so that should tell you something.
- Tim Brando reported today during the SEC on CBS telecast that Tennessee Titans Coach Jeff Fisher is very interested in the U. or Miami job. While Fisher has struggled the last few seasons in the NFL, I think he'd be a Charlie Weiss/Pete Carroll type hire for the Canes and would instantly bring back Miami's national credibility.
- Chuck Amato's NC State team really circled the wagons tonight and exposed Boston College's offense with some timely blitzes and good cover packages.
- Want a sleeper Heisman candidate? Check out Zac Taylor at Nebraska.
- Ole Miss and Mississippi State are complete embarrassments to the SEC.
- Speaking of Ole Miss, Wake Forest is a potential spoiler in the ACC race. Coach Jim Grobe is one of the nation's best and the Deacons are 4-0 and absolutely smoked Ole Miss in Oxford tonight.
- Believe it or not Southern California is winning this year based on D-efense! After all, Pete Carroll is a defensive minded coach.
- John L. Smith is probably done at Michigan State after tonight's collapse. Also note that Lousiville were perennial underperformers in Smith's last few years there.

Kartik, ever since this sight began your posts showed off your extensive knowledge of college football both from a historical and contemporary standpoint. But ever since the Peach Bowl, you have been on a mission to run down the Miami Football program in order to accelerate the firing of Larry Coker.
In addition, this season rather than be critical of Florida and FSU as you were last season (and may I add you were on the money on your criticisms of Florida's offense and their inability to win on the road)you have decided to suck up to both programs with outlandish talk about how great Chris Leak is since he put 26 points against Kentucky at home (UK gave up 65 points to Louisville) and how FSU is rolling now that they beat a team that hasn't played in a bowl game since 1962!
What is going on? Why are you all of a sudden so off your game? I used to love this site because it didn't pull any punches and it called a spade a spade. Now you run down Miami, even when they do things right and exempt FSU and UF from any criticism even when they struggle.
Think about it.
A loyal reader
I meant to say site, not sight. My bad.
Kartik's statements about the Canes have been fair and quite frankly he isn't as down on them as most of the UM fans. I'm not sure we will win another game this year. We may never beat another D1 team until we get a new coach.
I love how you burried the Jeff Fisher bombshell that everyone is talking about today near the bottom of the column.
Mooch will be replacing Smith at Mich St.
Kartik,
Please ignore these pundits and their idiotic criticisms. Its about time they saw the light and understand that the "U" is, like I said all last season... "USELESS."
I dont think you are being anything more than a rational, open-minded observer of this state's teams. I will say you didnt exactly support Florida last year as much as this year, but then again they havent let you down either!
Florida plays (as some contend) the toughest schedule in the nation. And since margin of vistory has been de-emphasized, a win is a win. We dont hear any BS noise from FSU for barely beating Troy now do we? The same Troy team that buried last night.
Its refreshing to hear positive things about a team I care for. You are doing a fine job and since this is your blog, feel free to do whatever you please!!!
Sincerely,
The Jim Rome
I like to play with myself during football games.
Florida is the best......that's why they scored only 26 points against a team Louisville socred 62 against! UK's best player Rafael Thomas was injured for the game! You guys are so dellusional.
Houston's offense is ranked #3 in the nation. Against a weak Miami defense that gave up 13 points to a lousy FSU team and 31 to an even more pathetic UL team (mark my words, both those teams will look like shit at year's end) Houston will romp the Canes.
As far as Gator fans getting excited for beating Kentucky, you guys sound pathetic. When you beat Auburn, which I think you will then ham it up. Until then just support your team and be humble.
Rice hasn't been to a bowl game since 1962? Florida A&M probably has better athletes then them, so FSU fans better not crow.
"Dolphins win"
Two words that should never be used together.
GO PANTHERS GO!!!!!!
Jill get a grip on reality. You guys really want to take on Ohio State?????
YOU PEOPLE ARE NUTS!!!!!!
Cane Fanatic......yeah the Panthers that's a real team. You're 0-2 and getting spanked by Tampa today!
The Dolphins are a playoff team and a hot Super Bowl pick. Daunte is still hurt but look out when he gets it going.
How did FIU play so well against Maryland?
Anonymous......you are entitled to your opinion. After all it is September and how often does the perception in September become the reality of January? Not often.
Florida is most certainly not exempt for criticism. I quite frankly hate the gimmicky offense Urban Meyer runs. Then again, I am more a smash type football guy, wanting to pound the ball between the tackles and use the FB and TE alot. This having been said, SEC defenses aren't showing that they can defend Tim Tebow, Chris Leak and the spread option. No SEC defense has as of yet totally shut down Urban's offense. As is the case in the SEC, the defenses often times catch up and surpass the offenses so it may happen in a year or two. But tright now Florida's offense is rolling.
As far as FSU is concerned I believe they more talent than any other team in the nation other than perhaps Ohio State. Yet they lose games they shouldn't and struggle in other games they shouldn't.
Larry Coker has had one bad game this year but it was awful He and his team quit. He lost to FSU also, but Florida State's talent is about two or three TDs better than Miami's, so Coker actually gets a pass from me for that game.
Gregg......Dolphins talk is not permitted on this website. That is the one rule of entry. I'm not strict except on that one point.
Before you Dolphins fans blow a gasket let me point out other websites exists where you can discuss the Dolphins. This is a College Sports site and the Dolphins fans tend to be unreasonable when talking about their team.
FIU has played everybody tough. They have scared every team they have faced so far.
