Following their shocking win over #8 Florida, the 'Canes traveled to Charleston, South Carolina for the Charleston Classic.  It would have been easy for the 'Canes to overlook Drexel, but it didn't happen as this game degenerated into a 66-46 rout.

Quick Shots:

1. Extra Windex for Jekiri--This team hasn't been able to rebound all season, and fans were wondering who was going to step up and take the lead on the glass.   Tonye Jekiri stepped up and dominated this game on the glass, snagging 13 rebounds.  He did more than merely rebound,  he had 4 assists and 8 points to go along with the rebounds.   Jekiri can trigger fast breaks off of missed shots, the key is to secure the rebound first.  Hopefully, Tonye can build upon this performance and become the dominant force this team needs.

2.Lockdown Isn't Fun--Quality of competition matters, but holding any opponent to 31% shooting is an accomplishment.  The Dragons couldn't buy a basket Thursday, and that was because of the 'Canes harassing them at every turn.  There were very few uncontested shots, and those contested shots were contested without fouling.  That's something that will be important as the schedule improves.

3. Angel & Manu Show--Like Amos 'n Andy, these two know how to put on a show.  Angel was everywhere, as evidenced by his 3 steals and 2 blocks, which complemented his 15 points. Lecomte scored an efficient 15, as he shot 66% from the field.  Manu also was hot on the perimeter, going 3/5 from deep.

4. Bombs Away--Miami shot extremely well, especially from behind the arc.  Drexel was overmatched, but the 'Canes did an outstanding job of making the extra pass and taking good shots.  When this team is shooting well from the perimeter, they can score at will.
