While the ACC teams may be laughed upon across the country, the conference is churning out Top 32 prospects left and right.
According to Todd McShay from Scouts Inc., six of the "Top 32" are from the ACC, headlined by Georgia Tech defensive end Michael Johnson at No. 7. At an astonishing 6-7 and 259 pounds, Johnson's grade is at a 95 right now.
Virginia offensive tackle Eugene Monroe (92) checks in at 15; Wake Forest outside linebacker Aaron Curry (92) is 19th; Florida State defensive end Everett Brown (90), who is draft-eligible as a junior, is 30th; Maryland wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey (89), also draft-eligible as a junior, is 31st; and Wake Forest corner Alphonso Smith (89) is at No. 32.
Say what you want about the conference and how wide open it is -- especially after the Hurricanes' win over the Demon Deacons, which keeps Boston College's hope alive for a better post-season game than the Humanitarian Bowl or the Meineke Car Care Bowl -- clearly a lot of top prospects call the ACC their home conference.
The Big 12 also has six players on the list, with two players each from Texas and Oklahoma.
Meanwhile, leading the pack is the SEC with 12 selections, including wide receiver Percy Harvin -- who is draft-eligible as a red-shirt sophomore -- and junior Brandon Spikes from Florida.
