- It has become very fashionable for Miami fans on the fan sites to blame Kyle Wright for this loss. Yes Wright threw 4 INTs and the last two were particularly unforgettable. However, maybe I'm old fashioned but I believe if you spot the other team 27 points and give life to a team with little confidence, the QB isn't to blame.
- Wright made some nice throws under pressure but I get the sense he has been over coached. He still locks onto receivers and thinks too much in the pocket. The problem isn't him but the coaching that has ruined his instincts. Those who read this blog know I have been no fan of Wright since I first saw him versus Georgia Tech in 2004, but I'm beginning to really feel for him. It's obvious his shortcomings have become exaggerated by poor coaching and a horrible offensive line.
- Eric Moncur and Calais Campbell are two of the most over hyped players in the nation. They follow in the footsteps of a number of Miami linemen this decade who have been way over rated and have performed poorly in big games when they needed to step up.
- Sending an SOS for Glen Sharpe. Where are you?
- Miami's linebacker depth has been severely tested due to injuries. This current group doesn't seem to have play making ability but at the same time they seem to be solid tacklers, unlike some Miami LBs of the recent past.
- The inability of the Miami running game to get on track in the first half of road games going back to the game versus Maryland last season is going to result in nothing but losses when the Canes leave the Orange Bowl.
- I'm not quite sure why DajLeon Farr isn't getting more passes thrown to him. He's a solid Tight End and when Miami has so much trouble getting Kyle Wright the time to look down field.
- I think North Carolina can give South Carolina a game next week. It seems everyone in the ACC plays as well as they can in big non league games except Miami.
- Duke must be kicking themselves for not jumping on Miami and ending their ACC losing streak when they had the chance. Today Duke lost at home 41-36 to Wake Forest, the third consecutive close game Duke has lost to a much better team.
- Miami will now have to wait two more years to get its first win at Keenan Stadium versus UNC. Hard to believe Miami's Basketball team won an ACC game in Chapel Hill at least two years before the Football team will. (The Canes beat UNC at the Dean Dome in January 2006 81-70)

I cannot believe you are defending a total cock sucker like Wright. If we had FAU's QB we'd have won. Think about what I just said!
We are a joke. Stop trying to sugarcoat the situation Kartik. Until we get every last player recruited by Coker out of this program we will continue to fail miserably. I'm so sick right now I want to take a gun to my mouth.
I'd agree with the statements about Coker's players but keep in mind Shannon recruited half the defense out there now and they are the problem right now.
The tackles get no push off the ball, the linebackers miss tackles and the corners can't cover anyone.
How exactly is that Coker's fault?
You guys suck rocks. Just admit it already.
No, seriously I want to die. This team losing on the road to second rate teams after years of curshing everyone is not worth living for.
It was a glorious afternoon up here. Nice crisp fall afternoon of football.
The UM fans wrre gracious and really loved Butch Davis. Our running game clicked for the first time all season and Yates was having a screamer.
You guys do have a lot of potential on offense. Wright can go down the field but clearly locks onto recievers and the #2 running back look quick and fast. Your starting runner #5 looked slow and fat.
Best of luck the rest of the season.
Let me give you my thoughts about this team.
- We do not travel well
- We have a bunch of soft players who have been "cokerized" and aren't responding to Shannon's harsh discipline
- We need some guys who will step up and make plays on defense. Other than K. Phillips and McCarthy who is now hurt we have ZILCH on defense.
- Our offense under Nix is much improved, but our defense is getting worse by the hour. This is like 2004, but we don't have Brock's interception proof games.
- Wright has become a gamer but he still sets his eyes on a reciever and doesn't look off anyone else.
- J. James is having a typical sophmore season. I'd sit him and ride Coop the rest of the year.
- Leggett and Farqueson were running poor routes yesterday
- Shannon has an uphill battle to regain his team.
Leave all the spinning for another site, Kartik. You're insight into what is wrong with the Canes has for years been spot on. Why are you now spinning to appease some unrealistic fans like the morons at Grassy and Cane Sport do?
The truth is we have a bunch of losers on this team now that have no idea how to win anymore and have no respect or reverence for the legacy of the "U." We have a bunch of pussies from the top down on this team and no matter how many good plays Nix calls or how many good rules Shannon puts in place until this set of losers leaves the program in 2-3 years we will be a bottom feeder in the ACC. Call it being Cokerized.
POED,
I think K is trying to show us he isn't just a hater and thus has to say nice things about Wright, Shannon and the rest. He has become Cokerized himself.
C'mon K. Our LBs sux. Did you see all the times they whiffed on tackles?
Miami beat UNC in Basketball?
What the hell is wrong with Miami?
This isn't good at all for the ACC. We need Miami and VT to be strong.
My Terps softened up GT for you.
Yes, I recall when Miami beat Carolina in B-ball in Chapel Hill. I think they have actually won twice up there.
IIRC Miami beat UNC in roundball a few times when Miami was still in the Big East but since moving to the ACC they haven't beaten the Heels especially in Chapel Hill.
We're at rock bottom now. This team is a disgrace. They haven't beaten a decent team in almost two seasons. We are a joke.
We are worse than a joke. Jokes are funny, and bring a smile to some faces. We are the titanic.
Donuts Dee and Clappy Coker sunk us.
Both should be on trail for football malpractice.
Once again, we play DOWN to the level of our competition...........Carlos Armour NEVER came to the ball carrier or was aggressive; always got played ! And , there were others; we need to be the team that showed up for A & M. We're going to get our asses handed to us in the next two games if we don't change things!
GT will pound Miami. We suck, however we showed some heart today.
RS and Nix are doing the best with a bad lot. Walton blows.
I'll be surprised if we finish over 500.
Tampa Cane,
Campbell, Moncur and Sharpton are nothing? Please explain.
