At the half

AMHERST, Mass. – It’s been a season of streaks for the University of Miami men’s basketball team.

The team entered tonight’s game against the University of Massachusetts having lost its last three games, including two at home – Binghamton and Nebraska.

Senior guard Anthony Harris had a team-high 13 points and sophomore Denis Clemente had 11 as the Hurricanes (7-7) went into the locker room trailing the Minutemen (10-3), 34-32.

Miami held a 10-5 lead with 15:13 left in the first half, but UMass answered with an 11-4 run for a 16-11 lead with 11:24 left in the half. During that run, senior center Rashaun Freeman, which finished the first half with 13 points, had 8 of the Minutemen’s 11 points.

Jack McClinton, which didn’t play against Nebraska because of a sprained left knee suffered Dec. 28 in practice, did not start the game, but played the final 12 minutes of the first half, hitting a 3-pointer from the right wing for his only points of the half.

Though he’s been hurt and did not play in the last game, McClinton’s knee (which is protected by a brace) seemed to hold up well to the tempo of the game.

Miami sucks at basketball and at football.

Basically, you are wasting your time writing about that school.
