Marcus Thomas Reinstated

Good news Gator fans, Marcus Thomas has been reinstated by Coach Urban Meyer just in time for the matchup with LSU. Thomas had reportedly failed a drug test. Good for Urban Meyer. He finds a way to help out a kid who knows he made a mistake and won't make it again, unlike Larry Coker who suspends players for missing study hall. Meyer will be fielding his best possible team Saturday against LSU. Miami on the other hand is still without possibly its best offensive weapon Ryan Moore who hasn't played since last November. Moore will not be charged by Miami-Dade police or Coral Gables police for an incident that took place on campus in August, yet he reamins suspended by Coker. Any wonder why Florida is unbeaten and Miami is winless against BCS eligible opposition?

Urban Meyer is some disciplinarian alright. Bobby Bowden takes a hit for being soft, and Meyer lets a guy who violates school policy twice in two months right back on the team.

Kartik, you are a total hypocrite if you say Meyer is doing the right thing and Coker the wrong thing. You have called out Bowden in the past and the FSU program. It's not just you. It's the whole media. Everyone beats up on FSU while turning a blind eye to the UF program which has had more players arrested and charged with crimes over the past 6 years than FSU and Miami combined. The police blotter is filled with gators.

You and the other people on this blog that are fans of "winning" are not college sports fans. Larry Coker doesn't deserve to be attacked for suspending guys and upholding the values of his university while Urban Meyer doesn't deserve to be praised for reversing an adminstration imposed suspension days before the biggest game of the season.

Urban Meyer is liar and a hypocrite.

I'm not arguing the merits of the suspensions. I am trying to say Meyer fights for his players and then they in turn fight for him, whereas Coker does not, and players have quit on him. Truth is Coker may have found the real deal in Javarris James. We don't know yet, but the early reviews are promising and if James lives up to was we think he could be this season Coker's decision to pull the redshirt off him during the last week of fall practice could be a job saving move.

Florida gets no scrutiny from the good ole boy media in this state. Miami and FSU are always on watch by the papers for this sort of thing, but when UF reinstates a guy no one makes a big deal about it. Can anyone say blatent double standard?

You are arguing the merits of the suspensions saying Coker suspends guys for missing study hall. I'm not a Miami fan by any means but in the face off this Gator bragging I certainly hope Miami can turn it around, because our season is done. They at least have a fighting chance having not lost a game in their division yet.

It isn't that Florida gets no media scrutiny, it is just that FSU sucks this year and Miami isn't doing very stellar either. If you think they get no scrutiny, read the Pensacola News Journal...always pro-FSU. The Bowdens will be on the hot seat again...especailly Jeff Bonehead...I mean Bowden. Bring back Chris Rix!

Yeah "Florida gets no scrutiny from the goold ole boy media.." Thats a load of BS. Dave "I'm a prick" Hyde in the Sun-Sentinel needs his boss sitting on his desk in order to write anything positive about the Gators.

Aside from the Gainesville Sun (which doesnt even post EPL scores) no one dedicates any pro-Florida coverage to their papers.

Why isnt UF or Auburn for that matter being touted as a NC front-runner? According to ESPN and several other douche bag networks, OSU has won the title and some half-pint from NIU has won the Heisman.

The kid from NIU turned down his only D-I scholarship offer to play "closer to home!" What a moron. He could have been playing here in Florida and making a name for himself!

BTW, FSU sucks and is outside the top 25 radar!

I LOVE IT WHEN YOU GET WHAT YOU HAVE EARNED!

You Gator fans will never see the truth. If you are forced to face facts you change the subject. Het Noles Fan, The Canes are off on Nov 25th and I was thinking of getting some Canes fans together and coming to tally to show our solidarity with FSU and the ACC and cheer you guys on against the hated Gators. Is that a good idea?

Florida has lost 18 times in the past four years, while Ohio State has lost just five times in the same span, and USC just three times. That's why you aren't being touted as a MNC front runner.

cane fanatic,

You obviously have no life, lover, or child. To spend your open weekend, driving 7 hours (one-way) to try and get into a game that will be (if not already) sold out is pretty stupid on your part. Not to mention the fact that there wont be any hotel rooms.

Florida plays in the SEC dummies... not some whack-ass Pac-10 or Big-10 conference where you get a lot of attendance but little competition between teams.

When was the last time one of those conferences had 4 teams inside the top 10?

Hey Tim I,

Make sure you post for us your tailgate location for the FSU game... I want to come by when the game is over and listen to you cry, sniffle, and make excuses about everthing.

Remember that Florida had Ron Zook during that string of 18 losses you speak of Cane Fanatic. Since he has been gone, things have improved. I'm sure the Gators would welcome you to Talahassee to chear against them. Go spend your $ there and improve the town.

How 'come you are buddies with the FSU fans now anyway? You lose to them and now you are best friends? Just keep bending over, but don't drop your wallet.

I hate FSU and Florida, but

I RESPECT FSU. THEY NEVER DROPPED US FROM THE SCHEDULE THOUGH THEY COULD HAVE. THEY NEVER BACK DOWN FROM PLAYING A TOUGH OOC OPPONENT ON THE ROAD. THE GATORS ARE WIMPS AND THEIR FANS ARE A BUNCH OF ARROGANT WANNA BEES. THE TRADITION OF WAKE FOREST AND ARROGANCE OF NOTRE DAME ROLLED INTO ONE. I HATE FLORIDA AND ITS FANS. I ALWAYS ROOT FOR FSU AGAINST THE GAY-TORS.

I agree Cane Fanatic. Miami-FSU is an intense football rivalry marked by respect. We can come together when one another play the hated, vile, dispicible Gators. I look forward to your Canes contingent cheering us on and restoring some ACC pride.

What I forgot to mention is that I mean that NC State and Clemson have restored the ACC pride. I have started to play with myself when FSU gets down, or goes down...which is starting to become very often.

Wallowing in self-pity and making excuses seem so common place for the big mouth Hurricane and FSU fans that are (right now anyways) LOSERS!

You people are the epitomy of bandwagon! On high when your team wins, but oh so "cry-baby" when you lose.

This horse-shit you talk of "joining forces" in your hate for Florida... ITS NOTHING BUT JEALOUSY! You know it, I know it, everyone knows it.

You are down, we are UP. Take it like a man and admit it. When we stumble, as I am sure we will, we will still be the best PROGRAM and UNIVERSITY in the state.

This "dropped us from the schedule" shit all boils down to MONEY. Playing Miami wasnt cutting it. Your fans dont travel, at least back then they sure the hell didnt. You guys were tops when the Mariel Boat Lift was going on.

What was the last road game you went to cane fanatic (aside from FSU)?

Miami wants us back on their schedule? Are you sure your program can take a beating like that? Wait your turn and get in line like FAU, FIU, UCF, and USF.

We have (as some have touted) the toughest schedule in the nation. What do we need to play out of conference for when the SEC is so damn strong?

Tim I... where is your tough talking tailgate going to be in November?

We have nothing to be envious of when it comes to UF. You guys are arrogant little twirps. The Gators have played for two titles in the same stretch as FSU and Miami played for 17!

Yeah, we're envious of the idiot Gators. Cane Fanatic, we look forward to seeing you up here!

You all hate UF simply because our university makes both of your schools look stupid in every academic statistic, sports category, and national recognition.

How about having a football program that is fully endowed. Not referring to a huge cock and a titanium set of balls, but enough CASH invested where the dividends pay for every football scholarship needed.

What that means to you less educated raft making, kash&karry liquor drinking fuckers is that the people you call twirps, i.e. your boss, your bosses boss, and your company president see fit to contribute to a national power in both classroom and field.

How many basketball championships do you have? Even though we only have 1 simple championship... combined, the two other schools in the state have NONE!

Between UF and Alabama we have how many championships? Blah Blah Blah.

Miami and FSU is a "friendly rivalry..." Where did you come up with that shit? Thats absolutely the dumbest thing ever on this blog in 2 years!

Friendly may ass. My wife, her friends, and even my UM supporting friends hate eachother's living guts on game day... and most other days of the year as well. There is no "friendly" anything when it comes to rivalries. I might root for the SEC, but to join forces with GA since I hate Tennessee... like Luther Campbell would say "nigga you crazy."

UF has more combine championships across all sports categories than Miami and FSU combined and multiplied by 8.

Look it up if you want the proof.

Jim Rome you busted us! Damn, I am so ashamed of the Noles that we can't win any of the Title 9 sports that the NCAA forces down every university's throats in the name of diversity.

By the way how many Baseball Championships do you have? And how do you account for FSU making the national title game in Men's Basketball 15 years before Florida even made the NCAA tournament for the first time. Not bad for a girl's school full of those N's you "boys" of "old Florida" hate so darn much!

I wouldn't take what some drunk 25 year old thinks of FSU-UM as the rule. Look back through the years. BB is full respect for Miami while he is full of contempt for Florida. Yet it is Florida who he has a much better record against. Why? Miami's coaches and alumni have made an effort to work with us and respect us unlike you arrogant bastards who think you invented the game of football.

Listen to Canes Rising Radio!
