ESPN Reports that Anti-Coker banner may fly over the OB Saturday

ESPN has reported earlier today that some UM fans are paying for an airplane to fly a "Fire Coker Now" banner over the Orange Bowl before the Canes game with Houston on Saturday Night. I am at the office and unable to watch the reports, but have seen it all over the internet.

On another note, Miami is likely to start four true freshmen on offense Saturday night. Considering this past recruiting class was ranked Miami's worst since the school was on probabation in 1995, the fact that Miami is starting any true freshmen is remarkable. It is even more remarkable when you consider Miami typically redshirts top Freshmen, including current NFL stars Willis McGahee, Andre Johnson, Sean Taylor and Antrel Rolle. Clearly, Miami is lacking depth and any sort of star quality on offense.

Anyone see the rim job Auburn Tigers almost lose to SC? Too bad. If SC could have stopped them on any of the 3rd and long or 4th downs, or the onsides kick, they win. Anyway, I'm not too scared of Auburn anymore. And this is even more ammo for the idiot pollsters to put USC at #2 not Tammy Tubberville's team.

Hey Tammy, maybe you can cry when the Gators beat your hiney and the booster club starts to interview other coaches...where is Pat Dye when you need him. :P

God Bless

I SAID NOTHING ABOUT "SPICS."

BUT I SURE CAN UNDERSTAND HOW EASILY YOU USED THAT TERM IN YOUR POST.

FLYING THAT BANNER IS REALLY GOING TO SOLVE THE PROBELM IN MIAMI.
NOT!!!

I wish we could refrain from using low, class slurs. It just shows how classless you are. You are likely a Notre Dame or Seminole fan.

Wright was the most touted UM signee of the bunch.

He was SuperPrep's No. 1 overall prospect in 2003. New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush, last year's Heisman Trophy winner, was No. 2. Wright also ranked ahead of Notre Dame's Brady Quinn and Florida's Chris Leak, but he's failing to make the impact those quarterbacks are making in Heisman bids.

jim rome......you are ignorant. ever been to a canes game at the ob? while the neighborhood is cuban, the fans are all yankees from the north. most of the are from new york or dc or philly. real classless dudes who boo the heck out of a nice california boy like me.

I never thought I'd long for the days of Brock Berlin, but Brock despite his obvious limitations had heart and was a leader. Berlin thrived on the adversity and made the Gators pay for running him off. Wright has all the physical tools but no heart, no fire and no clue. I am tired of him. I saw enough in mop up duty against La Tech and Ga Tech two years ago to be concerned, and he hasn't improved one bit since. Time to give Kirby a shot.

I like to play with myself while watching Kyle Wright throw interceptions.

Everyone here is in an uproar over the flying of the banner and the majority opinion seems to be that is classless. While I do not particularly like the idea I think there are other more important facts that are truly classless such as the following:

It's classless that our AD was too fat and lazy to conduct a proper search for a head coach 5 years ago and then gave the wrong guy an extension.

It's classless that the "inmates" were allowed to essentially decided who the "warden" was going to be back in 2001.

It's classless that our coach cannot recruit properly and puts out false and misleading practice reports which would make it seem otherwise.

It's classless that the team which won 58 straight home games could not win the ACC at home in 2004 against a mediocre VT team.

It's classless that our offense is so impotent that a safety from a UNC would call out our OC for not having enough plays and then prove it.

It's classless that our team could not rally to win against a miserable Clemson team in OT in a night game in the OB.

It's classless that our team could not beat a GT team at the OB that got hammered by Utah in a bowl game.

It's classless that our team quits time and time again and cannot score in the 2nd half.

It's classless that after losing a very emotional game to our arch rival FSU our coach begins his press conference by discussing the wind.

It's classless that we cannot win a conference where the eventual champion has failed to win a bowl game since 2002.

It's classless that our coach has castrated every remnant of manlihood left in this team in order to be perceived as "nice".

The CANES fans are the classless ones.....not the players or the coaches.

1. What “QUALITY” coach in their right mind is going to what to come and stay here when fans and/or boosters do this? Case in point, the Butch Davis banner several years back. He bolted to the NFL, with no warning and now several idiots on this board are clamoring to get him back.
2. This is going to work wonders for recruiting. You can bet your a$$ that every other university that is also pursuing UM recruits is going to show them pictures of that banner and show them how ridiculous it looks.
3. Understood that this year is not starting off great and there are a lot of issues. However, the national media gets this and turns us into a laughing-stock. Not because of our record, or coaches or players, but of how ridiculous it looks. People love to hate UM, now this just gives the something else to laugh at.

Classless move to whomever did or will do this. You are really helping the program, NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
