Wright Iffy for Saturday

The way I see it Miami could be in big trouble this Saturday versus NC State. Despite the Wolfpack's poor record, the team now seems like they are beginning to understand and play for Tom O'Brien whose record at Boston College was outstanding. Secondly, the injuries are really beginning to take its toll on UM, and should Kyle Wright not be able to go Saturday, Kirby Freeman as he was towards the end of last season will be the only available scholarship Quarterback for the Hurricanes. This is of course the legacy of the Larry Coker years: early commitments from QBs that turned to heartbreak on signing day. Derek Shaw, Pat Devlin, Daniel Steagal and Nick Fannuzi all defected late in the process or in the case of Steagal after signing day when he decided to play pro Baseball.

Now that we know Robert Marve is out for the season, it would make sense for the offensive coaches to either determine whether one of the walk ons can play QB, or to take one of the many UM athletes playing other positions and give them some reps at QB. This may sound ridiculous, but the position the Canes find themselves in is beyond ridiculous.
